Spa Etiquette & Frequently Asked Questions

Before you arrive, it's important to understand what to expect. For your convenience, we have prepared this list of frequently asked questions and answers to ensure a positive and relaxing experience.

Age Policy

​

  1. Minimum Age Requirement: The standard minimum age for spa visits is sixteen (16) years old. Individuals under the age of eighteen must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  2. Exceptions: While the standard policy applies to most spa services, we do offer select treatments and services suitable for younger individuals. These exceptions are subject to availability and may require parental consent or supervision. Please inquire with our staff for more information on age-appropriate services.

 

What if I am late for my appointment?

Arriving late will simply limit the time for your service, thus lessening its effectiveness and your relaxation. Your treatment will end on time so that the next guest will not be delayed. The full value of your service will be applied.

What is the cancellation policy? 

If you must reschedule or cancel your appointment, please notify us 24–hours before your scheduled appointment to receive a full refund.  Canceling within 24 hours of the appointment time services is non-refundable and can't be rescheduled.  

Pre-payment is required at the time you book your appointment.

 

What about gratuities? 

Gratuities are completely at your discretion for our massage therapists, cosmetologists, and estheticians. Gratuities for concierges are not accepted. 

 

What about payment for spa services? 

We accept all major credit cards. Pre-payment is required to hold an appointment but we will fully refund your card if you cancel 24 hours prior to your appointment.

Gift cards and Payment on Account constitute these terms:

  • Treated like cash; if lost or stolen it will not be replaced.

  • May be applied toward any purchase made at any LOR Spa. It is not exchangeable for cash or replaced if lost or stolen.

  • May not be returned for cash.   

 

Gift Card and Payments on Account Expiration Policy:

  • Validity Period: Our gift cards and Payments on Account are valid for a period of six (6) years from the date of purchase.

  • Expiration Date: After the initial gift card purchase, the gift card will expire and become invalid for use six (6) years from the date of purchase.

  • Unused Balances: Any remaining balance on the gift card after the expiration date will be forfeited and cannot be redeemed or refunded.

  • Extension Requests: Requests for extensions beyond the expiration date may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to approval by LOR Spa.

  • Legal Compliance: This expiration policy is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations governing gift cards in our jurisdiction.

  • By purchasing or using our gift cards, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined herein.

 

Spa Services on-account

  • Any spa services on account, that do not get used, have an expiration date of 12 months.

Guidelines for Positive Conduct

At LOR Spa, we are committed to providing a safe, positive, and respectful experience for all our customers and staff. To maintain a secure and comfortable environment, we have a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate or rude behavior. Any customer engaging in such conduct will be refused services.

What if I have special health considerations? 

Please notify one of our spa concierges before booking your services if you have;

  • High blood pressure

  • Allergies

  • Any physical ailments

  • Disabilities

  • Recent surgeries

  • Pregnancy

If you have any concerns, at all, please let us know. If, at any time during your services, you experience discomfort, please alert your therapist, cosmetologist, or esthetician immediately. 

 

What if I am pregnant? 

While there are a few services that should be avoided during pregnancy, there are many beneficial treatments that can be enjoyed at LOR Spa. Please notify one of our spa concierges if you are pregnant when making your appointments so they can offer guidance.

 

PRIOR TO ARRIVAL

How can I make a reservation?

Reservations may be made by calling (701) 837-1300 or by booking online.

 

Who can guide me in choosing my treatments?

Our spa concierges will help you plan the perfect spa experience, including the best order for your services.

 

When should I arrive? 

For your enhanced comfort and relaxation, we suggest that you arrive 20-25 minutes before your scheduled treatment (15 minutes for returning customers). Our spa concierges can assist with the best time to arrive if you have a Signature Retreat package as part of your treatment. 

If your services are from our A La Carte Spa menu after your paperwork is filled out you will be escorted to the locker room 15 minutes prior to your scheduled treatment time. 

 

What should I wear during my service?

Most body services are enjoyed without clothing, however, please wear whatever is comfortable for you. Many people prefer to keep their panties or briefs on during a massage, while others prefer to be completely nude. It's up to you. During all services, the body is fully draped, except for the area being worked on. Before and after your service, robes and flip-flops are provided for your use.

 

Should I shave before a treatment? 

Shaving is recommended but not necessary for men prior to a facial. If you do choose to shave prior to your facial, be sure to do so at least two hours prior to your scheduled appointment.

 

Shaving is not recommended prior to any body services such as hair removal. It is not recommended to shave 2 to 4 hours before float therapy as it will cause burning on that body part. 

 

UPON ARRIVAL

What about my comfort?

This is your time and you should delight in the experience to the fullest. If you are cold or warm, the amount of massage pressure, or would like your water filled please notify any one of our spa team members of your discomforts or preferences. We request that cell phones and pagers be turned off and remain locked in your locker room.

 

What about my jewelry and valuables? 

Please leave valuable items at home. Otherwise, lockers in the spa facility are available for personal items.

 

SPA SERVICES

Are Gift Certificates available from the spa?

Absolutely. You may purchase and redeemable gift certificates in person, over the phone, or our website. However, when purchasing a gift card online we will mail it out to the specified address.

​

What is a SPARTY?

LOR Spa is a great place for friends to spend time together in many areas of the spa.  Groups of 8 or more will be held in the Sparty room as a private group when available, call for availability.  

Our sparty room provides flexibility to have a true spa experience and stay together as a group in our one of kind sparty room.  Our sparty room includes several places to relax and spend time together in the sparty room hot tub.  Each person is required to book a Signature Retreat package to be part of the group and we will take care of the rest.  Pick a package from our menu and call for availability. ​

 

What is the A La Carte Spa Menu?

Our menu is A La Carte Spa menu because will customize each spa day unique to you.  Gives us a call and we will do all the planning for you.
